Hide, Seek and Save Sale, Clarification on Jenny Haskins Event, Stuff!

Join Quilter's Cocoon starting Friday 8/2 and running through Sunday, August 4th for a Hide, Seek and Save sale. We marked down so many bolts of fabric it will not fit in our sale section. Now we have fabric at $6.99 all over the shop. Come in seek and save. For the 3 days only the $6.99 fabric is $6.50 per yard 1/2 yard minimum. Yes, we are open Sunday from 10:00 to 3:00. Quilter's Cocoon feels very privileged to have the Arizona Quilt Guild coming back on Sunday. It was so funny last year we sent out an email early in the week that we might be open on Sunday. Apparently one of the guild members kept checking her email to see if we were going to be open so they could stop on their way home. The Shop Husband and I were in the shop and we received a call from someone saying they had a bus full of ladies but were at our old address. Hubby told them how to get here. Usually when someone calls and says a bus load, it's a van. Oh No, it was a Bus. It was a huge chartered buss with Arizona Quilt Guild ladies, about 47 of them. The bus took up the entire parking lot in front of the shop. Thank goodness a couple of the ladies had worked in quilt shops before so they were helping cut and fold fabric. It was a blast, we felt kind of bad we didn't have water for them to take or snacks. We did give them all yard sticks with Quilter's Cocoon on them. We received a call from the coordinator a couple weeks ago asking if we were going to be open. We assured them we will be and will be better staffed and have refreshments. We feel very honored that they chose our shop to stop at on their way home again this year. They let us know there is about 54 ladies. Feel free to come in but be prepared to work or wait, lol. If there are ever any bus loads just let us know and we will be prepared.

In addition to sale fabric, we have books, patterns, Hoffman bali pops, layer cakes, charm packs, a few kits and all in stock Creative Grids Rulers are 20% off.

Something to ponder. We have customers everyday talking about the price of fabric, notions, thread and everything else that comes with quilting. Shop owners are sure customers realize we have rent, payroll, utilities, insurance, product and so on. Something most people don't think about is the amount of theft we have. Ours has been so bad we are in the process of having cameras installed which is very expensive. I would much rather be purchasing fabric. A couple weeks ago someone stole 3 bolts of fabric. They slide it off the bolt and put it in their bag, then hide the empty bolt. I think I know who did that one and if she comes in again I will recognize her in a heart beat. People have also stolen some of my personal items I had in the class room in my sewing area. We don't carry Ghinger scissors because they were always stolen when we had them. At Road to Ca. we had 6 packs of Bali Pops Stolen. Thank goodness Road Staff has under cover security and they caught her. It is really sad but even more disappointing. In our industry you wouldn't think we would have these problems along with bounced checks.

Be sure to like us on Facebook. We post photos of new fabrics, quilts, patterns, books, etc. We are also going to start offering Facebook specials.
