Butterflies
It's May!! Perfect time to make this quilt and to celebrate Spring.
Come and learn how to make these "Bubby Barn" Butterflies with Rhonda. This is a great class to introduce you to the Buggy Barn technique. It's great for a confident beginner too.
Supplies:
Pattern from Celebrated Craziness book by The Buggy Barn
For Lap Sized Quilt *same as sample in shop* (50" X 62"):
~ 12 FQs (contrasting fabrics) for butterflies and background
~ Brown FQ for antennas
~ 1/3 yd for inner border
~ 1 yd for outer border
~ 5/8 yd for binding
~ 3-1/4 yds for backing
For larger quilt, same as the quilt in the book (65-1/2" X 78-1/2"):
~ 20 FQs (contrasting fabrics) for butterflies and background
~ Brown FQ for antennas
~ 5/8 yd for inner border
~ 1-1/2 yd for outer border
~ 3/4 yd for binding
~ 4 yds for backing
General Sewing Supplies:
~ Sewing machine in good working order, cord, pedal, etc.
~ Large (60mm) rotary cutter with a new blade
~ Long ruler and a healing mat (18" x 24")
~ 2 pieces of Freezer paper - same size as a Fat Quarter (18" x 21")
~ Thread for piecing and applique antennas
~ Steam-A-Seams 2 or Softfuse for antennas
~ Scissors, seam ripper, etc.
Before Class Preparations:
Trace two butterfly patterns onto the unwaxed sides of two pieces of freezer paper. Label each section. DO NOT CUT PIECES APART.
